TechSmith’s Camtasia Studio Earns Award of Excellence from Technology & Learning Magazine

Ease of Use Sets Camtasia Studio Apart from the Competition in the Presentation and Productivity Category

Okemos, Michigan - January 19, 2006 - TechSmith Corp., the world’s leading provider of screen capture and recording solutions, today announced that Camtasia Studio has received one of the highest honors in the K-12 education industry, an Award of Excellence from Technology & Learning magazine in the presentation and productivity category. The 23rd annual awards are highlighted in the December 2005 issue of the publication.

In selecting Camtasia Studio, the judges commented on how easy the product made creating full-motion narrated recordings, even when used with PowerPoint, or when demonstrating other instructional products, to create just-in-time training modules for students and educators. This year's winners were chosen by more than 30 educator-judges from over 130 entries.

“It’s exciting to receive such a prestigious award that recognizes the best applications and solutions in the K-12 market,” said Tanya Reynolds, Academic Marketing Manager at TechSmith. “It’s also a testament to TechSmith’s ongoing commitment to the education community. This is a core market for us, and we’re pleased to see how rapidly Camtasia Studio is being adopted at all levels.”

With Camtasia Studio, educators, and media and technology coordinators can easily record all the activity on a computer screen, and add voice narration and real-world video to create compelling, life-like instruction. The content can be edited and shared with students via the Internet in all the popular streaming formats, including Flash. The content can also be distributed on CDs and DVDs. Camtasia Studio can be used on any Windows-based computer, including Tablet PCs, Wacom Tablets, and interactive whiteboards.

Content created with Camtasia Studio is proven to increase the effectiveness of e-learning while greatly decreasing the cost, complexity, and time required to create it. Camtasia Studio requires no specialized hardware or training so educators can quickly incorporate the software into their teaching routine whether they use it to create course materials or online multimedia content, or in the classroom to record lectures and live PowerPoint presentations.
